    iSync 2.4

Nokia Series 40 iSync plugins can be found here

I posted a week ago about how to get your nokia 6085 working on you Mac with iSync (2.4 & 3.0). Well it appear the method will work for any series 40 nokia phome.

So I have knocked up a simple script that will out put the contents of the MetaClasses.plist file for you.

    Script Here

If you use the script and it works for you could you please post a comment saying which model of nokia your using so its clear others whats what.

Update added a list of the Nokia Series 40 phones to the script thanks to William Mccolgan

hi i’m trying to use the script for my 5310 phone, but its not working. Any ideas on how I can get around this? thanks so much.

What problem are you having ?

    Fred

    Hey, thanks for your works.

I’m in the same case than kal, isync doesn’t recognize the Nokia 5310.

    But the phone is detected.

    Fred

    Maybe it’s because Nokia 5310 is a S40 5th edition ?

    Fred

    Hello

    Thanks for your works.

    I can’t synchronize my Nokia 5310 too.

    But it’s detected

    Maybe it’s because Nokia 5310 is a S40 5th edition ?

    thanks for the help!
    it works fine with 5300…
BTW i would like to know if there’s a way to read incomming SMS… thanks… i was able to send sms, do phonecalls, sync calendar/contacts…

    kal

yeah it is a 5th ed. Do you know of any way to get it working? I’ve googled but no luck. Thanks for the quick replies.

Just tried the script for a 6275i and it didn’t work. The script didn’t seem to function correctly, though. When I chose 6275i from the drop-down and hit the button, the code it spit out had no model number in the added part at the end of the file. Snippet below (square brackets sub’d for angle brackets):

    [dict]
    [key]Identification[/key]
    [dict]
    [key]com.apple.cgmi+cgmm[/key]
    [string]Nokia+Nokia [/string]
    [key]com.apple.gmi+gmm[/key]
    [string]Nokia+Nokia [/string]
    [key]com.apple.usb.vendorid-modelid[/key]
    [string]0×0421/0×045A[/string]
    [/dict]

    Thanks for the script!
Works like a charm on my 3110 Classic.

I have updated the script today which should correct the problems people we’re having. I have tested it on Firefox and its functioning correctly (sorry i tried to use safari for about a week and didn’t like it).

    Axl

Works great with the 2760. Thanks very much.

    Chris

Works acceptably with the 7900 Prism, with some anomalies that might be attributable to buggy 1st generation Nokia firmware, such as crashes. Thanks very much for making the script available.

    Anonymouslemming

Has anyone tried the updated script with the 5310 yet ? My wife is looking at this phone, but I’m not letting her have it until it works with iSync :)

    Willie

The Nokia 6030 doesn’t have Bluetooth, and your older post says that the script doesn’t work with a USB cable. Did you get it working via USB?

Thankyou for the heads up. I’ll remove the 6030, No progress on the USB connectivity as I have upgraded to a nokia 8800 and Leopard.

    darin

Thanks for all the work you’ve done on this, and for making it available. I could not, however, get this to work with the 6165 - isync said “this device is not supported by isync”.

I used your script to generate a new plist file, replaced the plist file per your instructions, paired my phone with my mac via the Bluetooth panel in system prefs, launched isync and tried to add it as a device. Did I miss anything?

In any event, thanks for doing all this! :)

    Wouter

Your script allows me to sync my Nokia 6500 with ISync!

Thanks for all the work you have put into writing the script!

    GabrieS

Hi, trying to get the script to work with my Nokia 8600 Luna… iSync doens’t work only address book and modem… any ideas ?

    Xeres

Just got a hold of the 6500 Slie and it doesnt seem to work. I replaced the file both by deleting its contents and pasting in your script and by saving it as a plist file and swaping them around but neither seems to work. Have other Nokia 6500 Slide users found this script doesn’t work or am i being silly and missing something here…?

    Thanks

    X
