Today has been so far great!. My new laptop charger has arrived for my macbook pro so i can use it instead of my Dell D620. Should note there is nothing really wrong with the Dell D620, its just not as great as the macbook, annoyingly one of those things all the mac vs pc reviews find it harder to put into words, the mac is just better for many reasons i cant really think of.

Note: one reason why pcs laptops are better than macs should be noted as their power supplies rarely melt them selves due to a design fault in the power supply.

Also yesterday my BT Anywhere HT 620 arrived, V cool, but the best bit whilst looking thought the docs that came with it is a nice little piece of paper saying “You know that 10Mb data limit, well actually its unlimited” So i have a Voice and data Mobile phone which can use sip, for £4 a month with unlimited data and a free £200 HTC phone thingy got to be bargain of the century.

Also in other news I brought my new son Ben home from the hostpital, both Ben and Sarah are sparko currently.

Probably worth sticking up that if you in the market for a Bugaboo Cameleon in the UK, and are getting hampered by the 8 week waiting list. You have a choice:

    • If you feel the wait is too long then John Lewis keep hundreds in stock normally (all colours) so can get you one to you in about 5 working days.  They even managed to get the percieved to be rare foot muffs in less than 2 days.

    or

    • If you feel the 8 weeks wait just isn’t long enough JKUK / babies247.com will be quite happy to take your money and then not deliver any goods.  This is just one of thier many great services they offer. Another would be rude and miserable customer services.   So if your sick of getting goods you paid for and just had enough of happy & helpful staff, JKUK / babies247.com is for you.

I have found my self reading Abovetopsecret.com (ATOS) a lot again recently. Initially this was because of a conversation at work regarding siting of what could of been the “Aurora“. Reading the other articles on there and posts on the forum it would be easy to jump up and down and claim most if not all these people are either complete nut jobs, or Totally on the money.

The more I read on there, the more fence I’m finding to perch my self on. The arguments for and against the various things such as UFOs, the presence of Aliens on earth, are many and varied. A lot of the arguments are self reinforcing (similar in many respects to religions). It has been published that the CIA spend up to 50% of its colossal budget on misinformation.

What really interests me and what I keep coming back to in my mind, is that the SR-71 came in to service in 1964 sSR71o was being developed through out the 50’s and is capable of speeds well over 2000mph. Assuming you get 12 Points for doubling the national speed limit you’d get 336 point on your license doing that, enough for a ban for 118 years. If the official last flight of the SR-71 was in 1999 what have they replaced it by ? The official response is its no longer required due to the increased sophistication of spy satellites. Does the SR-71 indicate the possession of advanced technology not in common usage ?

A would be counter the SR-71 is that the Cassini mission, having its systems advanced by “upgrading” the systems compression method during the mission, could indicate that the perceived technological leaps being made at Groom lake etc, are in fact just extreme implementations of already understood technologies.

So in conclusion of this very conclusion-less post, I’m finding it increasingly important to keep an open mind on these things, and put less weight on the fantastic sounding or not listening to an “expert” on a subject just because he lives in a trailer in the desert with a lot of cats.

    So whats going on then?

Haven’t posted much recently, so a quick Summary of what I have been up to.

My home PBX is up and running. Currently irritating the wife as the server is sat under a chair in the lounge and it isn’t very quiet. Need to re wire in the upstairs telephone points after ripping them all out for painting. Awaiting a SIP ATA to arrive so I can use my DECT base stations as extensions.

My new patio has so far consumed 1.5 tonnes of ballast, 4 bags of cement and 4 bags of sand. Still loads more to go in, to make the base level. I have laid my first brick wall, and have used half a can of deep heat, great fun ?

Has any one else been watching Derren Browns trick of the mind ? Tis very cool though I spotted the trick when the people who apply are given the choice of card to pick at random, (Trick or Treat). The cards he shows are in fact Ambigrams, I thought i was being clever until searching for a pic of the cards, spotted that wikipedia has it well covered. Dammit

Great service from the Post Office. Just rang up the Royal Mail to change our mail redirection to the new house, only to find that they can’t possibly change it until the redirection has completed its full 6 months. The reason I was given for this is good stuff. The lady on the phone said “Once we setup the mail redirection we print out all the labels, and supplying the sorting office new ones will just confuse them”. Brilliant!

Havn’t written much on her of late. Many due to not thinking of anything good to write, this has never stopped me before! So. Whats new, still trying to get mad2workhere.com of the ground, and am as usual slightly obsessed with getting as many of the sites pages indexed as possbile.

In other news while my BMW gets “unbent” im currently driving to work in my Nans Yaris, and though we have signed contracts on the new house as yet still havnt exchanged, Im told this will happen before the weekend.

Darren and my self have done some slightly covert internet shanegans that he goes into in more detail on his blog (if you have a login).

My other project php-AD-admin I have back burnered until I get my desktop pc out of storage, as my work laptop is now full of work stuff and cant fit the VM images on there any more. Though the project continues to gain interest and im getting weekly emails from around the globe thanking me for my efforts, which if nothing else just inspires me to add more features. I have also been considering moving away from open source to shareware/freeware but the decsion is hampered by epic amounts of uninteresting reading (like this?).
